Stroke Survivor Thrives Thanks to Life-Changing Support from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A stroke survivor named Eric Constantino is on a path to recovery, thanks to support from the GMA Kapuso Foundation. In May 2025, Eric collapsed in his bathroom after suffering a stroke. He was taken to the hospital, where he spent days in intensive care, grappling with a significant brain bleed.

Dr. Marinica Ciara Palma from the Laguna Provincial Hospital provided insight into Eric’s condition. “He needed rehab, which included physical therapy and ongoing medication,” she explained.

Recently, the GMA Kapuso Foundation paid Eric a visit to check on his progress. He has made some important lifestyle changes since his stroke. He has cut back on salty foods and focused on eating healthier meals. These changes are crucial for his recovery.

Eric is committed to his physical therapy sessions, working hard to regain his strength. His daughter, Gemarie, expressed her pride in his progress. “When I see him walking, I feel so happy. The improvement is really big. We truly believe there is hope in trusting the Lord,” she said.

Stroke recovery can be a long journey. According to a recent study by the American Stroke Association, about 15 million people worldwide experience strokes each year. Recovery often depends on immediate medical care, rehabilitation, and lifestyle changes. Eric’s story highlights the importance of support systems like the GMA Kapuso Foundation, which aims to assist those in need.
