Mamata Banerjee Attack On BJP Government: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took inventory of the preparations for the Gangasagar Fair held yearly on Monday (January 06, 2025). During this, he accused the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and mentioned that the BJP government helps the Kumbh Mela and likewise provides crores of rupees but doesn’t even look towards Gangasagar.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief in Gangasagar mentioned, “The central government supports the Kumbh Mela by giving crores of rupees but does not look towards Gangasagar. On one side of Gangasagar there are Sundarbans, on one side there is forest, on the other side there is ocean, temples and devotees. This is very amazing.” He additionally mentioned that the state government has held coordination conferences in order that no devotee has to face any drawback.
‘Modi government couldn’t even construct the Gangasagar bridge’
Mamta Banerjee mentioned, “People have to come to Gangasagar via water. For this, the central government should build a bridge but it could not do even this. Now the state government has invited tenders to build the bridge. After this it will become quite convenient. We hope that the devotees who come to Gangasagar will have a pleasant journey. We have held meetings with various departments like police, PWD and PHE. Along with this, we have also held coordination meetings so that the devotees do not face any problem.”
‘Donation of Kapil Muni Ashram is distributed to Ayodhya’
The Chief Minister is on a two-day go to to Gangasagar Island to make preparations for the Gangasagar Fair held yearly on Makar Sankranti. Speaking to the media at Kapil Muni Ashram, Banerjee mentioned, “Earlier, there was nothing in Gangasagar. We are doing everything we can for this place. I have met Maharaj ji here. Every year Lakhs of devotees come to donate to Kapil Muni Ashram but all the donations are sent to Ayodhya where they have another temple. This time they have to build a cemented area around Kapil Muni Ashram to save it from sinking. of charity Give 25 percent share.”
