DURANT, Oklahoma – Planning celebrations can be tough. But at Lost Street Brewing, they know how to make it work for International Women’s Day.
Grace Rudolf from Lost Street Brewing shared her idea: “My brother usually brews the beer. This time, I said let’s flip the script and let the women take charge.”
Every year, the brewery invites local women to brew a special Honey Rice Lager about a month ahead of International Women’s Day. The brew then sits and develops its flavors until the big day arrives.
Last year, this collaborative effort won gold at the Oklahoma Craft Brewers Battle in 2024. “We hope to recreate that success again this year,” said Rudolf.
The women involved will take charge of the brewing process from start to finish, working with the ingredients, the equipment, and, of course, having fun along the way.
Even though all brewing spots are filled, anyone interested is welcome to come by, watch the process, and show their support. “Events like this are vital for our community,” Rudolf noted. “We have an amazing group of strong women who come together to create something special.”
The brewing team will choose a name for the new beer, which will be officially launched on March 8th, just in time for International Women’s Day.
