The Lindenwood men’s volleyball team faced a tough opponent, No. 3 Hawaii, in their recent match. They fought hard but ended up losing in four sets, bringing their record to 4-11 overall and 1-6 in the MIVA.

The game started with Hawaii quickly gaining a 10-5 lead in the first set, prompting a timeout from Lindenwood. Although the Lions closed the gap to 15-13 with a strong kill from Owen Walsh, Hawaii maintained control and took the set 25-16.
The second set was a different story. Lindenwood and Hawaii exchanged points, and the Lions pulled ahead 16-14 after a block from Jacob Christopher and Amir Grant. After a series of back-and-forth exchanges, Carter Stenmark secured the set for Lindenwood with a kill, equalizing the match at one set apiece.
The third set saw early point exchanges, but Hawaii built a slight lead at 10-7. With a rally that included a pivotal block by Christopher and Walsh, the Lions evened it up at 18. They even took a brief lead at 21-20, but Hawaii responded, winning the set 27-25.
In the fourth set, Lindenwood began strongly, leading 13-9 and forcing Hawaii to call a timeout. They extended their lead to 15-10 after a kill from Walsh. However, Hawaii rallied back, scoring five straight points to tie the match. Despite a strong effort, including a key kill from Cole Schuler that brought the Lions within one at 22-21, Hawaii closed out the set 25-23 and won the match 3-1.
