SEATTLE, Washington – Rutgers men’s basketball finished their West Coast conference road trip with a thrilling overtime win against Washington, triumphing 89-85.
The Scarlet Knights (13-14, 6-10) were led by Dylan Harper, who delivered a stellar performance, scoring 34 points. He shot 9-of-18 from the field and hit an impressive 12-of-14 from the free throw line. Harper also contributed five rebounds, three assists, and two steals, making it one of his best games yet.
With just under 12 seconds left in regulation and trailing by one, Jeremiah Williams made a crucial play. He stole the ball during Washington’s inbound pass and drew a foul, allowing the Knights to force overtime.
In the extra period, the Scarlet Knights took control. Williams finished the game with 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Freshman guard Ace Bailey played a significant role too, scoring 18 points and sealing the game with a free throw at the end of overtime. Freshman center Lathan Sommerville added eight points, showing resilience against Washington’s formidable player, Great Osobor.
