The NFL Players Association recently surveyed players to rate their teams on various issues, and the results highlighted some interesting insights. While many teams fell short in certain areas, most players expressed satisfaction with their head coaches.
Six head coaches received top marks with A+ grades. These included Dan Quinn from Washington, Raheem Morris from Atlanta, Kevin O’Connell from Minnesota, Andy Reid from Kansas City, Dan Campbell from Detroit, and Mike McDaniel from Miami. Additionally, nine coaches earned A grades, while five were rated A-. Four received B+, another four got B, and the lone C went to Cleveland’s Kevin Stefanski, along with two coaches who have since been let go: Doug Pederson from Jacksonville and Matt Eberflus from Chicago.
Among the standout findings for the A+ coaches:
- Dan Quinn: A remarkable 100% of his players feel that he manages practice time effectively. They appreciate how open he is to feedback, placing him among the best in the league.
- Raheem Morris: In his first year, Morris has successfully shifted the team culture. Players are also praising the new head strength coach, indicating a positive change from the past.
- Kevin O’Connell: His players commend his openness to input. He ranks high for being responsive to the team’s needs.
- Dan Campbell: Campbell has once again received an A+, marking the second consecutive year. Players highlight the team’s strong culture and leadership, showcasing Campbell’s impact as a head coach.
This survey provides a glimpse into the strong rapport between players and coaches, underlining the importance of effective leadership in the NFL.
