Clodagh McKenna may be a star in the kitchen, but her heart is firmly with her family. While she juggles writing, farm life, and launching her new homeware line, she ensures weekends are all about family time.
“I’m very family oriented,” she shared during the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. “I finish work on Friday at 5 PM, and the whole weekend is dedicated to my family and friends.” Clodagh emphasizes the importance of her close-knit family, including her two sisters. Even though they live far apart, they maintain a strong bond. “We’re a close family, which is really lovely,” she said.
Currently, Clodagh resides with her husband, Harry Herbert, on a 60-acre farm in a charming 300-year-old cottage near Highclere Castle, famous for its role in *Downton Abbey*. Despite her love for her roots in Ireland, she doesn’t see herself moving back just yet. “We have a big farm to look after. Never say never, but not yet,” she explained.
Amid personal and family commitments, Clodagh is channeling her creativity into a homeware line called Honey by Clodagh. “It features beautiful tablecloths, kitchen covers, and utensils,” she noted. The line debuted on June 30, highlighting Clodagh’s flair for stylish home aesthetics.
However, shoppers might find the price tags a little high. For example, the charming Lemon Grove Tablecloth costs €150, and a set of Lemon Grove Napkins comes in at €72. Many social media reactions have been mixed, with users expressing admiration for the products but also questioning the affordability. Comments on platforms like Instagram show a blend of excitement and surprise over the prices.
The homeware market has been growing, especially post-pandemic, with many seeking ways to enhance their living spaces. According to recent research, the global home decor market is expected to reach $838 billion by 2027, growing at a rate of 4.3% annually. This highlights a shifting trend in how people view and invest in their homes. Clodagh’s line is undoubtedly tapping into this desire for style and comfort.
As her new venture unfolds, fans can only wait and see how it evolves. Clodagh is not just creating products; she’s sharing a piece of her life and values in every item. It’s clear her passion for home and family will continue to shine through in everything she does.
