Transforming Life: Over 50% of Brits Seek a Major Shift in Their Lifestyle

More than half of Brits are eager to shake up their lives for better health and happiness. A recent survey of 2,000 adults shows that 51% are open to change. Their top goals include saving money, eating healthier, and enjoying the little things in life.

Many want to exercise more, spend time outdoors, and even learn new skills like a language. Some simply wish to slow down and enjoy more moments with a good book. However, 33% find it hard to make these changes, and 38% struggle to break out of their daily routines.

Interestingly, 24% of those surveyed want to adopt parts of the Italian lifestyle, making it the most desired option compared to Spain (19%) and France (14%). An official from Disaronno, the Italian drinks brand that sponsored the survey, noted the charm of the “Dolce Vita” lifestyle. They pointed out that small lifestyle changes can greatly enhance moods, confidence, and relationships.

The study revealed that Brits are particularly drawn to the sunny weather of Italy (42%), the relaxed pace of life (40%), and spending more time outdoors (38%). Family (32%) and diverse food options (32%) were also important factors prompting this desire for change. Notably, 67% associate “Dolce Vita” with joy and the pleasures of Italian culture.

Despite a yearning for change, many feel stuck. A significant 62% admit to spending too much time on screens, with 12% wanting to cut back. Financial constraints and motivational issues are barriers for 27% and 22%, respectively. Nevertheless, 72% believe small changes are vital for happiness, with 28% wanting to feel more joy and 19% aiming to make the most out of each day.

Friends and family are significant influences; 24% feel motivated by friends, while family and social media inspire 23% each.

Disaronno’s spokesperson emphasized the importance of savoring life’s small joys, similar to Italian culture, which values family time and celebrates food as a delightful ritual. They encourage embracing a slower pace and indulging in life’s simple pleasures, even if the perfect weather isn’t available.
