Judge Jamal Whitehead emphasized that while the president has the power to suspend refugee admissions, this power is not unlimited. The president must also follow the detailed laws set by Congress regarding these admissions.
Additionally, in Washington, D.C., Judge Amir Ali again ordered the Trump administration to release funds meant for foreign aid. This decision came after an attorney highlighted that funds, which the judge previously ruled should be distributed, remained frozen.
These rulings demonstrate the ongoing legal hurdles faced by the Trump administration and raise significant questions about federal spending and refugee admissions processes in the United States.
