WASHINGTON (TNND) — On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump signed several new executive orders from the Oval Office.
The first order focused on making the United States the leading nation in artificial intelligence. Trump expressed his determination for the U.S. to take charge in the AI field.
The second order set up a working group for cryptocurrency. Trump remarked that the value of cryptocurrency is rising under his leadership. He added, “We’re going to make a lot of money for the country.”
Next, Trump established an Advisory Commission on Science and Technology. The goal of this commission is to gather experts from government, business, and education to ensure that America stays ahead in science and technology for years to come.
Trump praised this initiative, saying, “That’s great.”
He then signed a presidential memorandum to support the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. “I love the Lumbee Tribe,” Trump stated, highlighting that this move would be significant for them.
On the same day, North Carolina representatives introduced the Lumbee Fairness Act. This legislation aims to grant the Lumbee Tribe federal recognition and protections.
Trump also issued pardons for 23 “peaceful pro-life protesters” who faced prosecution under the Biden administration. He commented on their treatment, saying, “Many of them should not have been prosecuted.” Some of these individuals are elderly, and he noted that many are currently in prison or under scrutiny.
Finally, Trump signed an executive order to release documents related to the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., and former Senator Robert F. Kennedy. “A lot of people are waiting for this for a long, for years, for decades. And everything will be revealed,” he promised.
