Where to Locate the Gravid Bowfin

Your best bet for finding the Gravid Bowfin is at the Ruins of Wyveria, specifically at the fishing spot near the Area 8: Gap in Rubble camp.

If you haven’t set up this camp yet, check the MH Wilds map for guidance. Head to the southeast area on level three, and your Seikret can lead you there.

If fishing here isn’t yielding results, try these alternative spots: Area 13: Oasis Campsite in the Windward Plains or the river from the Scarlet Forest base camp that leads to Area 3.

Tips for Catching the Gravid Bowfin

The Gravid Bowfin is most active in the morning and evening during the Plenty season. To improve your chances, use the ‘Rest’ option at your campsite to set the perfect fishing time.

To catch the Gravid Bowfin, you’ll need the Emerald Jitterbait. You can unlock this bait after completing the MH Wilds Goldenfish quest. Head to Kanya at the fishing hole in the Scarlet Forest base camp to get started. After that, you can speak with her again to obtain the Emerald Jitterbait and pick up the side mission “Fishing For Flavor,” which offers extra rewards.

When you have the Emerald Jitterbait, equip it by holding CTRL and using the mouse wheel with your Fishing Rod.

Remember, ‘jitter’ is key! Move the lure back and forth to grab the Gravid Bowfin’s attention. If you keep the lure still, it may take a while for the fish to bite.
