New Delhi: Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, is set to lead India’s delegation at the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations in New York. This important session starts on Monday and will address progress toward gender equality and women’s empowerment. It coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

During this session, the minister will present India’s national statement. She will highlight various government initiatives aimed at the overall development of women and girls, reflecting the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The discussions will also focus on how to accelerate the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As part of the schedule, Annapurna Devi will be a guest of honor at a side event on March 12, organized by the Indian government in partnership with UN Women.

This event will gather global leaders, policymakers, and experts to explore strategies for the financial and digital empowerment of women.
