Jimmy Gregg, a rising senior at University High School, recently announced his commitment to Syracuse University on social media.

Ranked as the top punter in the class of 2026, Gregg has made a name for himself with impressive stats. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 195 pounds, he averaged 42.7 yards per punt during the 2024 season. He excelled by placing 21 of his punts inside the 20-yard line and received honorable mention for all-state honors in Class AAAA.

“This is truly a blessing,” Gregg shared. “Not many get this chance, and I’m so thankful for it.” He chose Syracuse over offers from schools like Marshall, North Carolina State, Purdue, and West Virginia. He feels that Syracuse is the perfect fit for him.

“Coach Fran Brown is special, and I believe I can thrive under his guidance and that of the other coaches,” Gregg said. His commitment comes just before his senior season, easing some pressure off his shoulders.

“Having this decision out of the way is a huge relief,” he said. “Now, I can focus on being the best punter I can be and supporting my team.” His dedication to improving remains strong. He aims to keep honing his skills and helping his team succeed in the upcoming season.
