With just eight weeks left in the school year, our team is ready to make the most of our time. We’ve created a fun bucket list filled with goals and activities we want to complete before summer. Here’s a peek at our plans!

Visit the Imperial Sand Dunes
Kelly Loo, Lifestyle Co-Editor
I’ve seen pictures of the Imperial Sand Dunes, and they look amazing. I’ve checked off many items on my San Diego bucket list, but this one has been waiting because of the travel time. I imagine myself there, channeling Zendaya from “Dune,” gazing into the vastness and pretending to summon sandworms. I’m also excited to try sandboarding if possible. If that doesn’t work out, I know the Dunes will provide a stunning backdrop for photos—especially at sunrise! Now, I just need to find a free weekend and a bit of patience for that two-and-a-half-hour drive.
Create a Spring Quarter Wish List
Camelia Tzadok, Staff Writer
A friend of mine has a lovely tradition of writing a wish list each quarter. Inspired by her, I wrote my own wish list with goals for Spring. I miss the times spent at Torrey Pines Gliderport and the fun moments with my suitemates. This quarter, I want to check off items like perfecting my bracelet stack, breaking in my new Dr. Martens, and stirring up some mischief with friends.
Experience Chicano Park Lowrider Show
Julio Canimo, Senior Staff Writer
I’ve always had a passion for cars, and lowriders hold a unique place in Southern California’s culture. They represent more than just vehicles; they showcase art and community spirit. I’ve never attended a lowrider show in my four years at UC San Diego. However, I plan to visit San Diego’s Chicano Park Day on April 19. I look forward to seeing classic cars up close—those shiny, colorful beauties really bring joy to my heart.
Visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields
Naisha Nallakula, Senior Staff Writer
Despite my friends sharing endless texts about going to Carlsbad Flower Fields, we’ve never made it there. This quarter, I’m determined to witness the vibrant Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers in full bloom. With the fields only open in spring, I want to capture some artsy shots with my closest friends before it’s too late. I also look forward to exploring nearby spots in San Diego, like North Park and the San Diego Zoo.
Embrace Spontaneity
Samantha Phan, Lifestyle Co-Editor
As a fourth-year student, life has become a bit predictable for me. My Friday nights now revolve around homework and early bedtimes. This quarter, I want to rekindle the spontaneity of my first year. My goal is to do something unexpected each week—whether it’s a quick trip to Tijuana for some fun or just surprising someone with coffee. I want to make the most of my last weeks in San Diego.
Enjoy My Neighborhood Park
Melanie Poppel, Staff Writer
With warmer weather, I’m eager to take advantage of my nearby park. I’ve got so many ideas: playing spikeball, having picnics with Trader Joe’s snacks, or simply taking a sunset stroll. This quarter, I plan to relax at the park and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Become an Academic Pro
Jonathan Zhang, Senior Staff Writer
For this quarter, I want to ace my classes like never before. My plan is to attend every lecture, grab a front-row seat, and engage fully with the material. While I joke about doing it all in multiple languages, my real goal is to be present and get the most out of my studies.
Declutter My Closet
Ava DeLuca, Senior Staff Writer
It’s time for some spring cleaning! I truly believe in “out with the old, in with the new.” I’ve realized that I tend to acquire more clothes without letting go of what I don’t wear. This quarter, I’m committed to sorting through my wardrobe and giving clothes a second life. I’ll donate items to local charities and sell others online. By June, I aim to part with at least one outfit. You might just find your inner retail entrepreneur by doing the same!
Creating our bucket list makes us excited and motivated to enjoy the remaining weeks of this school year. What’s on your list?
