Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we focus on a stock report. Each week, we highlight three Superstars on the rise and three whose fortunes are downswinging.
This past week was eventful with some dramatic moments. Cody Rhodes went head-to-head with Drew McIntyre, Lyra Valkyria had a striking encounter with Bayley, and MFT collided with Wyatt Sicks. These events changed the stock for several wrestlers.
Stock Down
Fenix had a rough time on SmackDown. He didn’t see the MFT attack coming and failed in a rescue mission. His attempts to save the day ended badly, and he’s now seen as ineffective. The storyline often calls for someone to take a beating to elevate new talent, and unfortunately, that’s been Fenix’s role recently.
Jacob Fatu faced bad news too. He was pulled from a key match against Drew McIntyre due to a backstage assault. Reports confirm he’s injured and might be sidelined for a while. After returning to WWE following an absence, this setback could stall his momentum once again.
Seth Rollins saw his stock drop after a shocking betrayal by The Vision during Raw. Sources say he injured his shoulder at Crown Jewel and will need surgery. This unexpected twist might have been a way to write him out of storylines, paving the way for a new top heel to emerge.
Stock Up
On a brighter note, CM Punk shined in the main event of Raw, winning a contender’s match against Jey Uso and LA Knight. The audience was enthusiastic, cheering him on. Given Rollins’ injury, Punk is now positioned as a strong contender for the world heavyweight title.
Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker have stepped up within The Vision. They recently turned on Seth Rollins, marking a significant shift in the group’s dynamics. With Paul Heyman still in the picture, they are getting a real chance to shine as main-event heels.
Ilja Dragunov made an impressive comeback after more than a year away. He is now the new United States champion after defeating Sami Zayn. His return match showcased incredible skill, proving he’s ready to reclaim his spot at the top.
Wrestling is always changing, and every week brings new twists. Fans are eager to see how these developments unfold in the coming weeks. What changes do you think will happen next?
