Unlock £20,000 Climate Grant Opportunity: Apply Now Through East Hampshire District Council!

Our Community Climate Action Fund (CCAF) is open for new applications. This funding provides up to £20,000 for projects that support our environment and community. Over the past two years, we’ve already funded 29 projects totaling £250,000 and now have an additional £129,000 available from councillor grants.

To qualify, projects need to show a clear community benefit and align with important priorities like reducing carbon emissions, adapting to climate change, and promoting environmental education.

Here’s what we’re looking for in successful applications:

  • Carbon reduction or climate adaptation: Your project should help lower emissions or adapt to climate changes.
  • Community impact: It should benefit a wide range of community members.
  • Value for money: We want projects that maximize our funds.
  • Alignment with local strategies: Your project should fit with EHDC’s Climate and Environment Strategy.
  • Councillor support: Your project needs backing from a district councillor.

Possible project ideas include:

  • Community energy initiatives or upgrades that save energy.
  • Active travel schemes, such as bike paths.
  • Greening projects like wildflower gardens or green roofs.
  • Health-focused projects that enhance well-being.
  • Engagement activities that motivate climate action.

Applications are easy to complete online through your MyEHDC account.

Don’t wait too long; the application deadline is October 13, 2025.

This initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing local sustainability efforts. According to a recent survey by the UK Government, 63% of people now prioritize climate action, reflecting a growing awareness of environmental issues. With more communities recognizing the impact of individual projects, the potential for meaningful change is significant.

As social media trends show an active interest in sustainability, sharing successes from funded projects could inspire even more community involvement and innovative ideas. Let’s work together for a greener future.
