Have you ever thought about what makes science so exciting? Picture a test tube, a Bunsen burner, and a lot of curious kids. That’s what Science Guys of San Diego is all about!

They’ve just opened registration for their summer camps. These camps are perfect for kids who love to experiment and learn. Running from June 2 to August 8, kids aged 5 to 12 can dive into a week of hands-on activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kathryn and Chuck Beamon, known as Professor Katalyst and Professor Chicken, run the San Diego branch. Their mission is to make science fun! “It’s amazing to see kids get excited about learning,” they say. The couple started this franchise in November 2022, and it’s already become popular, drawing families even from Los Angeles.
They also offer afterschool clubs, workshops, party services, and festival shows. With their growing program, they’ve added six new science educators to the team!
This summer, camps will be held in various locations, including Carlsbad, Coronado Island, North Park, and more. Each week will have special themes like “Crazy Chemistry” and “Space & Rocketry.” Kids not only get to learn but also take home fun projects that involve their parents in the experience.
The Beamons emphasize how these camps are a great way to keep kids engaged without screens. “It combines learning with fun,” they said, highlighting the joy they see in kids who can’t wait to attend.
If you’re thinking about signing up your child, you can do so on their website. Each week costs $450, and there’s a discount for early registration.
