Unveiling Excellence: Arunachal Governor Highlights Indian Armed Forces as Global Leaders at Bharat Defence Conclave

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), praised the Indian Armed Forces as “one of the finest professional forces in the world” during the Bharat Defence Conclave in New Delhi. His keynote address focused on the theme: “Emerging Technologies, Transforming Geopolitics, and New Tactics for Future Warfare.”

He explained how India’s foreign policy is shifting from Non-Alignment to Multi-Alignment, emphasizing that relationships are now shaped by national interests. Despite efforts for peaceful conflict resolution, he pointed out that wars often arise from ideological differences, competition for resources, and struggles for power.

The Governor stressed that warfare is changing due to revolutionary technologies. He reinforced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, highlighting ongoing defense reforms that promote self-reliance and technological innovation.

Drawing from his experience as a former commander, he addressed border management challenges. He highlighted the importance of involving local communities in national security, noting that villagers in border areas play a crucial role in monitoring unusual activities.

Key initiatives he mentioned include:

• Border fencing and Bharatmala Pariyojana for better connectivity.
• Sagarmala Pariyojana for maritime surveillance.
• Border Area Development Programme for infrastructure improvements.
• Vibrant Villages Programme aimed at enhancing education, health, and housing in remote areas.

He emphasized the Indian Armed Forces’ unmatched skills in counter-terrorism and their essential role during disasters and international peacekeeping efforts. This leadership stance mirrors a growing trend among nations to adapt their military strategies to modern challenges and technology advancements.

In today’s world, as global conflicts evolve, the focus on cooperation and community involvement becomes more significant. Military experts suggest that involving local populations not only supports security but also fosters resilience and stability in sensitive regions.
