BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Gymnastics team, ranked No. 2 in the preseason, started their 2026 season with a lively event called Open Mike Night. The excitement buzzed through the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as 4,472 fans filled the stands—a record for this event!

The showcase featured the team splitting into two groups: purple and gold. They practiced routines in the traditional Olympic order, gearing up for their upcoming competitions.

Fans were thrilled to see new talent on display. Freshmen like Nina Ballou, Molly Brinkman, and Haley Mustari made memorable debuts. Coach Jay Clark mentioned that the team was cautious with their floor routines to stay in peak shape.

The night kicked off with Kylie Coen leading the purple team on floor, setting the right mood. Sophomores Lexi Zeiss and junior Konnor McClain followed with energetic performances that had the crowd cheering.

Meanwhile, the gold team started on beam with senior Emily Innes making her first appearance for LSU. The atmosphere was electric, especially when fifth-year senior Tori Tatum executed a powerful routine.

In the second rotation, the purple team shined on vault, with Zeiss, Ulrich, and Ballou all impressing with their landings. The gold team then took the floor, creating a buzz with strong routines from Innes and Brinkman.
