Russia expels 2 UK diplomats
On Monday, Russia’s FSB announced the expulsion of two UK officials, claiming they were involved in espionage. These officials include the UK’s second secretary and the spouse of the first secretary. The FSB revealed that their investigation uncovered evidence of British intelligence activity disguised as diplomatic work.
Additionally, Russia’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the UK embassy representative in Moscow for clarification on the matter.

Ukraine downs most Russian drones overnight
Kyiv reported that overnight, Russia launched 176 drones toward Ukraine. The Ukrainian air force successfully intercepted 130 of these drones, according to a statement on Telegram. The military indicated that another 42 drones failed to reach their intended targets, leaving four drones unaccounted for.

Ukrainian drone strikes cause fire in Samara
Ukraine has continued its drone operations within Russia, targeting strategic locations. A warehouse in Samara caught fire during an overnight attack, though authorities reported no injuries. The fire was contained but measured around 1,600 square meters. Andriy Kovalenko from Ukraine’s National Security Council noted that an oil refinery in the same region was also struck.
Reports indicate that Russia’s Defense Ministry managed to shoot down three drones over Samara, but details about the drone strikes remain unverified.

Ukraine named top arms importer
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Ukraine is now the largest arms importer worldwide, following Russia’s invasion. Ukraine represents 8.8% of global heavy weapon imports, including tanks and fighter jets.
India follows as the second largest at 8.3%, while Qatar and Saudi Arabia both account for 6.8%. The United States has played a major role in Ukraine’s arms supply, contributing 45%, followed by Germany and Poland.
