NIU’s spring Food Truck Wednesdays are here, and they promise a tasty variety! For the entire month of April, students can indulge in different food trucks offering everything from lemonade to tacos.

Let’s talk about some of the highlights you won’t want to miss.
Burritoville serves up delicious Mexican cuisine, including hearty burritos and tacos. Their portions are generous, and prices are reasonable—around $13 for a burrito. If you love their food, you can also visit their restaurant at 1026 W. Hillcrest Drive.
Wild Fries has become a local favorite with their loaded fries. You can enjoy unique offerings like Greek fries or pulled pork fries, with prices ranging from $10 to $15 based on your toppings. They’ll be at Food Truck Wednesdays on April 16 and 30, so be sure to check them out!
Ka-Bao!, coming from Rockford, brings a twist with its bao buns. Their menu features tasty options like the Spam-bao, filled with fried spam and garlic sesame chips, and the Chicky-bao, with garlic caramel fried chicken and house pickles. Look for them on April 9 and 30.
The Press Box, based in Hinckley, Illinois, offers a wide range of choices from burgers to paninis to satisfy any craving. Catch them on April 16.
For the latest updates on which trucks are available each week, students can check out the NIU events calendar.
In related news, a recent poll asked students what should be included in the next Northern Star time capsule. Here’s how the votes stacked up:
- NIU “No Luck Needed” T-Shirt: 45%
- Smartphone: 29%
- Photo of Northern Star office: 16%
