Week 17 AP Poll: Discover the Top 25 College Basketball Teams Unveiled!

The latest college basketball rankings are out as we wrap up Week 17 of the 2024-25 season.

As always, there were some surprises in the standings, especially with thrilling games in the SEC.

Let’s take a closer look at the updated AP Poll Top 25 rankings.

Auburn continued their impressive run by defeating Kentucky 94-78, building a solid 15-point lead by halftime. Miles Kelly shone with 30 points, while Tahaad Pettiford contributed 21 points off the bench.

Duke also had a dominating performance, blowing out Florida State 100-65. Isaiah Evans led the way with 19 points, while Khama Maluach notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Houston secured the Big 12 title with a 73-64 victory over Cincinnati, marking their eighth straight win. LJ Cryer scored 20 points to lead the Cougars.

In a thrilling showdown, Tennessee pulled off a buzzer-beater win against Alabama, clinching a close 79-76 finish thanks to Jahmai Mashack’s late shot. Chaz Lanier and Jordan Gainey both added 18 points to the scoreboard.

Florida continues to impress, defeating Texas A&M 89-70. Will Richard scored 25 points, while Thomas Haugh contributed 17 points for the Gators.

St. John’s clinched the Big East title by beating Seton Hall 71-61, with RJ Luis Jr. leading the charge with 21 points and Zuby Ejiofor logging a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

On the other hand, Alabama’s coach Nate Oats took responsibility for the loss against Tennessee, reflecting on missed opportunities. Mark Sears scored 24 points in that match.

Michigan State picked up a crucial 71-62 win over Wisconsin, helped by Jaden Akins’ 19 points and Jaxon Kohler’s double-double with 10 points and 16 boards.

Texas Tech bounced back from a loss to Houston by winning against Kansas, with JT Toppin leading the team with 21 points. Christian Anderson also contributed significantly with 15 points.

Iowa State maintained their strong position in the rankings by defeating Arizona 84-67. Milan Momcilovic scored 17 points, while Tamin Lipsey added 15 points and eight assists.
