“Most of the places where bullet train projects have gone, they have taken 90% of the transportation share,” Mr Vaishnaw requested if bullet trains can be cheaper than air fares.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad hall has been making regular progress since work started in November 2021. The first kilometre of the viaduct was inbuilt six months and the 50th by April 2023.

In addition, bridges have already been constructed over eight rivers as a part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad hall, Mr Vaishnaw stated right this moment.

The projected value is an estimated Rs 1.08 lakh crore, of which the Centre is dedicated to offering Rs 10,000 crore, whereas Gujarat and Maharashtra will contribute Rs 5,000 crore every. The remaining funding shall be secured by way of a mortgage from Japan – at a minimal 0.1 per cent rate of interest.
