The Xbox Series S (512GB) will increase from $299.99 to $379.99, an $80 hike. The Xbox Series X (1TB) rises to $599.99, a $100 increase from its previous price of $499.99. Other price changes include the Series S 1TB model now at $429.99 and the Series X digital edition priced at $549.99. The special 2TB galaxy black edition is now a staggering $729.99.

Controllers and headsets are also seeing price adjustments in the U.S. The base Xbox controller is moving to $64.99, while the wireless headset will cost $119.99. Many retailers are already offering these new prices.

When it comes to games, some titles will jump from $69.99 to $79.99 during the holiday season, aligning their prices with Nintendo’s top games for the Switch 2. However, Xbox Game Pass prices will remain unchanged.

These price increases affect players not only in the U.S. but also in Europe, including the UK. The Xbox Series S (512GB) will now cost €349.99 or £299.99 in Europe and the UK. The Xbox Series X (1TB) will rise to €599.99 or £499.99. Interestingly, Sony recently increased prices for its PS5 consoles in the same regions.

This move follows a successful quarter for Microsoft. CEO Satya Nadella reported during a Q3 earnings call that Microsoft became the top publisher in pre-orders and pre-installs for both Xbox and PlayStation stores. Additionally, they saw a 45% year-over-year revenue increase for PC Game Pass.

The gaming community is reacting, with some expressing frustration over the price hikes. Many are discussing the changes on social media, debating whether the quality of Xbox games will justify the increased cost.

As gaming prices rise, it’s crucial for gamers to weigh their options. With competition from other console makers, gamers are left wondering how much they’re willing to pay for the latest tech and titles.
