Hyderabad: Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series in India, scheduled for next week. This series includes the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphones. The news came shortly after these devices were unveiled for other markets prior to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra made its debut in China on February 28, 2025, while the standard model and the Pro version were introduced in October 2024.

Launch Details

The Xiaomi 15 series will officially launch in India on March 11, 2025, at 12 PM IST. The official announcement featured images of the devices, showcasing the 15 Ultra in Silver Chrome and the standard variant in Bright Silver.

What to Expect from the Xiaomi 15 Series

Xiaomi 15: The Indian version of the Xiaomi 15 is expected to mirror the specifications of its global model. It may come with a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and offer up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum of 1TB of storage for the special edition.

The rear camera setup, likely developed in partnership with Leica, could feature a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, it might include a 32MP front-facing camera. The battery could be around 5,240mAh, with charging capabilities of 90W wired and 50W wireless. The device is expected to run on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: The Xiaomi 15 Ultra may feature a larger 6.73-inch WQHD+ quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and boasts an impressive peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It will likely share the same Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC common in the 15 model, with options for 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

A standout feature of the Ultra model is its camera setup. It may include a quad-camera system created in collaboration with Leica, featuring a 50MP primary camera with a one-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 4.3x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to be 32MP. The Ultra may also pack a 5,410mAh battery, supporting both 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, and will run HyperOS 2 on Android 15.
