Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role in “Home Improvement,” was arrested over Thanksgiving weekend, marking another chapter in his ongoing legal issues. The Lane County Sheriff’s office reported that Bryan, along with his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was taken into custody after an incident involving reckless endangerment near a camping area outside Eugene, Oregon.
According to officials, the couple was in a pickup truck with their three small children when Bryan exited the vehicle. Allegedly, Cartwright attempted to run him over, crashing the truck into a ditch. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Both Bryan and Cartwright showed signs of impairment when deputies arrived. Bryan’s history includes a previous domestic violence conviction and multiple arrests in recent years. In fact, this incident marks his sixth arrest in just five years. Earlier this year, he faced charges of second-degree domestic violence, with Cartwright being the alleged victim.
In addition to his recent troubles, Bryan was previously arrested for DUI twice this year alone. In 2023, he pled guilty to felony assault and was put on a three-year probation, which included strict conditions that he allegedly violated.
The situation has sparked discussions on social media, with many expressing concern over the impact of such behavior on their children. Experts in child psychology suggest that children in these environments face significant emotional stress, which can have long-lasting effects.
As of now, Bryan and Cartwright remain in custody, with their children placed with a family member. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless actions, not just for the individuals involved, but for their families as well.
