Beasley Celebrates Stellar All-American Finish with Western Colorado University Athletics

PUEBLO, Colo. — On Friday evening, Allison Beasley from Western Colorado added another feather to her cap with a fifth-place finish in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

After qualifying for the finals on Thursday, Beasley faced a tough challenge from Margot Thomas from the host school. She crossed the finish line in 10 minutes, 36.30 seconds, just ahead of Thomas, who finished at 10:36.80.

Ava O’Connor from Adams State took an early lead and maintained a solid gap throughout the race. Initially, Beasley ran in sixth place up to the 1,000-meter mark but pushed herself into fifth, defending her position against a late challenge from Thomas.

This achievement marks Beasley’s fourth All-American honor, adding to her impressive record. In 2023, she finished second in the steeplechase at the outdoor championships and previously earned All-American status during the indoor season for both her mile run and as part of a distance medley relay.

Also competing that day was Nykole Meshew from Western, who participated in the women’s high jump. She successfully cleared the first height of 1.63 meters (5 feet-4.25 inches) but could not make it over the next height of 1.68 meters (5-6), placing her in a tie for 16th.

Beasley’s performance helped Western Colorado secure 23rd place in the team standings, with one day left in the championship.
