The Metropolitan Police recently announced they would not pursue allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor related to his police protection officer contacting Virginia Giuffre. Initially reported in October, these allegations suggested Mountbatten-Windsor provided the officer with Giuffre’s personal information just before a photo of the two emerged from a meeting in February 2011.
The police stated that their review uncovered no new evidence of any criminal activity. Mountbatten-Windsor has not publicly commented but has always denied the allegations against him.
Police representatives emphasized their commitment to investigating any new information, especially with upcoming releases related to the Epstein case. If more evidence emerges, they will reassess the situation.
Giuffre’s family expressed frustration at the police’s decision to drop the case without explanation. Earlier this year, Giuffre tragically ended her life. Her family believes justice isn’t served, especially with forthcoming evidence from the Epstein Transparency Act potentially shedding light on the details of her claims. Giuffre accused Mountbatten-Windsor of sexual assault on three occasions when she was a minor, including a significant encounter at the home of Ghislaine Maxwell in London.
Maxwell, a key figure in the Epstein scandal, is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Her connections with Epstein and high-profile individuals have drawn considerable media attention. Giuffre, in her memoir published after her death, recounted these experiences and criticized Mountbatten-Windsor for his past association with Epstein.
In a 2019 BBC interview, Mountbatten-Windsor insisted he did not recall meeting Giuffre and denied any inappropriate contact. He resolved a civil lawsuit with her in 2022, which was intended to settle claims of sexual assault against him in the U.S.
The public scrutiny surrounding Mountbatten-Windsor has intensified, particularly after he was stripped of his royal titles, including Duke of York. He is also set to vacate the Royal Lodge in Windsor by next October and may relocate to Sandringham.
Recent discussions on social media have highlighted the effects of his controversial past, with people debating the implications of his ties to Epstein. Notably, images of him with other influential figures, like Bill Gates, resurfaced, illustrating the extensive network connected to Epstein. However, being featured in these photos does not imply wrongdoing.
