Despite these challenges, more Americans than ever recognize the urgent need to tackle climate change. Recent surveys show a strong consensus across various demographics. Many people now understand that these environmental issues will impact their lives directly. In fact, large-scale investments in solar and wind energy are becoming increasingly affordable, even without considering the significant subsidies that fossil fuels receive. If we want a sustainable future, we must act now.
But this decade isn’t just crucial for climate action. It’s also vital for democracy. Our ability to combat environmental issues hinges on our fundamental rights, such as the freedom to speak out and assemble peacefully. These rights allow us to educate lawmakers and engage the community on vital issues like clean air and water. Without these freedoms, progress stalls.
