At the end of each year, music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music reveal users’ most listened-to artists. Recently, a poll conducted by The Eastern Echo highlighted the favorite artists among Eastern Michigan University students.

The following ranks show how students voted, with the percentages indicating each artist’s share of the total votes.

11th Place: Conan Gray (2.29%)
Conan Gray’s latest album, Wishbone, came out on August 25, 2025. It dives deep into themes of grief and heartbreak. His popular track, “Heather,” has racked up an impressive 2.2 billion streams on Spotify.

10th Place: Bruno Mars (2.29%)
Though he hasn’t released a new studio album since 2016, fans received exciting news. A new album titled The Romantic, featuring nine tracks, is set for release on February 27, 2026.

9th Place: Hozier (2.29%)
With 41.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Hozier’s recent song “Too Sweet” explores various love languages and how affection is expressed.

8th Place: NBA YoungBoy (2.29%)
NBA YoungBoy’s album Slime Cry includes 30 tracks. Hailing from Louisiana, he has an extensive collection of music, including nine studio albums.

7th Place: Tyler, the Creator (2.29%)
Tyler’s recent work includes two albums, Chromakopia and Don’t Tap The Glass, bringing his monthly listener count to 43.1 million with recent hits like “Sugar On My Tongue.”

2nd Place: Daniel Caesar (3.44%)
Daniel Caesar enjoys a robust following with 39.7 million monthly listeners. His tracks “Best Part” and “Get You” have gained acclaim featuring artists like H.E.R. and Kali Uchis.

1st Place: Drake (6.89%)
Drake stands out with nearly double the votes of others. He has clinched 13 number-one singles on the Billboard Top 100 across his eight studio albums.

In total, the poll involved 174 students who mentioned 107 unique artists. This survey reflects music trends among young listeners, showcasing the diverse preferences in the current music landscape.
