Rutgers Gymnastics Recap: Big Four Meet Performance
Rutgers gymnastics faced off in the Big Four meet and scored 195.750, securing third place. They narrowly beat Illinois, which scored 195.650, while Minnesota and Michigan State, ranked 13th and 11th, took the top spots with scores of 197.700 and 196.625, respectively.
The meet started on the beam, where Rutgers scored 48.725. Delaney Adrian and Gabrielle Dildy set a solid tone, both earning 9.800.
On the floor, the team shone brightly, scoring 49.075. Adrian led with a 9.825, followed closely by Dildy’s impressive 9.900 and Emily Leese, who scored 9.850. Notably, Dildy has consistently delivered strong scores, achieving over 9.9 in her last four floor routines.
The vault yield was a 48.825, with Adrian, Rachael Riley, and Dildy all scoring 9.825.
The Scarlet Knights excelled on bars, tallying a significant 49.125—their best mark of the season. Campbell Earley scored a career-high 9.825 in the second spot, matched by Adrian’s 9.825 and Dildy’s 9.850. Schenkel capped it off with a remarkable 9.875.
This victory marked Rutgers’ second conference win this season, following a previous win against No. 24 Maryland.
Looking ahead, Rutgers will compete in two quad meets before heading to the Big Ten Championships in Illinois on March 20-21.
