Bend, Oregon, May 7, 2026 — A prescribed burn at Pine Mountain on the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District has turned into a wildfire. Firefighters reported it around 4 p.m. today. Despite earlier weather conditions being suitable, multiple spot fires ignited outside the controlled area.
This wildfire, known as the Pine Mountain Fire, is about 14 miles southeast of Bend and has affected approximately 1,500 acres.
