Hyderabad: Sairaj Bahutule has been named the new spin bowling coach for the Indian cricket team. The announcement came from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Bahutule expressed his enthusiasm: “It’s a huge honor to join as the Spin Bowling Coach. Playing for India was special, and now I get to contribute to Indian cricket again in this role. I’m excited to work with the players and help them succeed.”
With a rich background as both a player and a coach, Bahutule brings much experience. He played two Tests and eight One-Day Internationals for India. In first-class cricket, he scored over 6,000 runs and took 630 wickets. His impressive stats don’t just show his talent; they highlight his commitment to the game.
After retiring, Bahutule became a respected figure in coaching. His journey took him through various teams, including Vidarbha and Kerala. Most notably, he helped lead India to victory in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2022.
