Attention Federal Workers: Prepare for a New Request to Showcase Your Achievements!

Federal workers will soon receive an email asking them to share their accomplishments from the past week. This communication is set to arrive as early as Saturday, and it will come directly from their agency’s human resources department instead of the usual Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

Leaders from OPM recently met with representatives from various agencies. They advised that these emails should be sent out for better clarity and organization. However, it remains unclear how well this plan has been shared across the federal workforce. Employees at the Department of Defense received a notice on Friday that they should expect the email on Monday, complete with instructions on how to respond.

The notification advised that when they receive the email, they should reply within 48 hours and copy their supervisor. It’s important for them to avoid including any classified or sensitive information since their responses will help shape weekly reports. Ignoring this request may result in further scrutiny.

In comparison to last weekend, this guidance provides more clarity. Federal employees were taken by surprise when OPM sent out a mass email instructing them to list five recent achievements. This move came shortly after Elon Musk hinted on social media about upcoming changes and stated that non-responses could be viewed as resignations.
