A recent contestant from Massachusetts made waves on "Wheel of Fortune" by winning nearly $28,000. Kyle MacDonald from Boston reached the bonus puzzle but couldn’t solve it. Still, he left with an impressive total of $27,950.
MacDonald, who works at Boston University, has fond memories of watching the show as a child in Canada with his grandmother. He credits it for helping him learn the alphabet and improve his reading skills. When the chance to appear on the show arose, he jumped at it. The taping in Los Angeles was an unforgettable experience.
"It felt both like the longest and shortest day of my life," Kyle shared, reflecting on the fast-paced atmosphere starting early in the morning. He enjoyed bonding with other contestants, even cheering each other on despite the competition.
During his episode airing, MacDonald threw a watch party in Dorchester. However, he had to keep quiet about his results until the show concluded.
Interestingly, earlier this year, another local contestant, Kate Stuntz from Wellesley, won $68,548 on the same show. This highlights how "Wheel of Fortune" continues to be a source of excitement and big wins for contestants.
"Wheel of Fortune" airs weeknights at 7 p.m. on WBZ-TV.
