Breaking News: Eagles QB Coach Doug Nussmeier Set to Join Saints as New Offensive Coordinator!

Doug Nussmeier, the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, is close to becoming the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, as reported by Josina Anderson. This move comes shortly after Kellen Moore was brought on to lead the Saints’ coaching staff.

Nick Underhill, a reporter for the Saints, also mentioned that Nussmeier seems to be the frontrunner for the role, saying things are progressing well, even if it’s not finalized yet.

Nussmeier’s potential move to New Orleans has been anticipated since the Saints hired Moore. The two have a history of working together on coaching staffs, dating back to 2018, so his interest in the position was expected.

With Nussmeier’s departure, the Eagles face two significant challenges:

• They will need to find a new quarterbacks coach, and there isn’t a clear choice within the current team.
• Jemal Singleton, the running backs coach and assistant head coach, is staying put. He also interviewed for the offensive coordinator job.

Currently, both Nussmeier and T.J. Paganetti, who specializes in the run game and assists with the offensive line, are set to leave Philadelphia for New Orleans. It’s possible that more Eagles coaches may follow Moore to the Saints in the future.
