Colorado’s basketball team continues to impress on their Australian tour, securing a solid 100-88 victory over the Gold Coast Rollers. This win, which took place at the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium, highlights the Buffaloes’ growing strength and coordination.
In their first game in Melbourne, they scored 92 points. Against Gold Coast, the team dominated near the basket, outscoring their opponents 50-30 in the paint. They also grabbed 22 offensive rebounds, turning those into 33 second-chance points, and finished with a significant 48-37 advantage on the boards.
The Buffaloes’ success was a team effort. Six players scored in double figures, demonstrating a well-rounded offense. Elijah Malone led the scoring with 15 points, making six of his seven shots. Freshmen Josiah Sanders and Ian Inman stood out among the rebounders, each grabbing seven boards. Sanders also contributed 14 points and three assists, while Inman added 10 points.
Junior guard Barrington Hargress was notable for his perfect free throw shooting, going 7-for-7, and scoring a total of 12 points. Freshman center Leonardo Van Elswyk scored 14 points, and sophomore Sebastian Rancik added 12 and hit two three-pointers.
Collectively, Colorado shot 44% from the field and maintained strong playmaking with 21 assists for the game.
Gold Coast, competing in the NBL1 North, had Preston Le Gassick as their standout player, scoring 20 points and recording seven assists.
