Charles Barkley responded to Kendrick Perkins’ remarks about the LA Lakers.

The LA Lakers have been generating buzz in the league lately. Kendrick Perkins, a former star, went so far as to say the Lakers are “saving the NBA.” His comments followed the team’s recent success, which has been fueled by Luka Doncic’s impressive performances since he arrived from the Dallas Mavericks.
However, not everyone agrees with Perkins. Barkley strongly criticized him during a segment on “Inside The NBA.” He expressed frustration over what he sees as a narrow focus on the Lakers and the Warriors, ignoring other great teams in the league.
“The Lakers are doing great. But let’s not forget the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. They’ve been playing well for a while now,” Barkley said. He pointed out the Cavaliers have won 12 straight games, and he believes the Thunder deserve attention too.
Barkley’s passionate rant highlighted that while the Lakers and Warriors have been in the spotlight, other teams have been consistently performing well, yet receive little recognition. He urged the media to acknowledge the Cavaliers and Thunder’s achievements instead of just focusing on the Lakers’ recent wins.
In response, Perkins took to social media, challenging Barkley directly. He didn’t back down and indicated he was ready to address Barkley in person. The exchange shows the lively banter between these two basketball analysts.
As the season goes on, both the Lakers and Perkins will continue to garner attention. Yet, it’s clear that other teams like the Cavaliers and Thunder also deserve the spotlight for their outstanding performances this season.
