David Seaman Continues as University Librarian: What This Means for Our Libraries’ Future

David Seaman has been reappointed for a third five-year term as the dean of Syracuse University Libraries. This decision comes from Interim Vice Chancellor Lois Agnew after a comprehensive review of his leadership.

Significantly, under Seaman’s leadership, the Libraries’ ranking among North American research libraries improved from 83rd to 56th. The Libraries has also received prestigious awards, including the Library Excellence in Access and Diversity Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine.
