Arizona Snowbowl is shaking things up for the 2025-26 ski season with an investment of nearly $1.5 million. The focus? Forest restoration and improving tree skiing.

This summer, crews are busy removing dead trees across the ski area. This effort not only helps reduce wildfire risk but also promotes a healthier forest ecosystem in the San Francisco Peaks. Thinning the trees will open up more gladed terrain, offering what Snowbowl calls “some of the best tree runs in the state.” They’ll have options for both beginners and advanced skiers.

“These investments show Snowbowl’s commitment to providing a true mountain experience at Arizona’s premier ski destination,” said marketing manager Angie Grubb.

The upgrades don’t stop there. Snowbowl is enhancing snowmaking around the Humphreys Chairlift to extend the ski season for beginners and intermediates. Last winter set a record with 185 skiable days, starting on November 8 and running through June 1.

Other improvements include new rental gear featuring brands like Dalbello and Elan, expanded Wi-Fi, better dining choices, and updated payment systems. These enhancements build on previous improvements, like the Aspen Chairlift and a redesigned Agassiz Lodge Bar.

According to a recent survey by the National Ski Areas Association, skiers are increasingly prioritizing environmental sustainability in their choices. This reflects a growing trend of resorts focusing on eco-friendly practices. For Arizona Snowbowl, the commitment to forest health and maintenance aligns with what many visitors now seek in a mountain experience.
