Discover How Jude Wellington is Transforming the Global DJ Scene and Lifestyle Brand with ITMP

Music is a universal language that connects people from different backgrounds. It creates communities through shared experiences and artistic expression. Jude Wellington, founder of ITMP, is on a mission to build such a community in the DJ world, mixing creativity with technology.

Wellington has a passion for music that started in his childhood. Growing up in the vibrant music scene of the 1980s, he fell in love with all types of sounds—from modern rock to R&B to underground electronic beats. “The UK invasion of the 80s really fueled my love for DJ culture,” he recalls. This passion eventually led him to become a professional DJ and mark his place in the industry.

Nearly three decades ago, Wellington founded ITMP, which stands for In The Mix Productions. Today, he describes ITMP as more than just a brand; it’s a cultural movement focused on empowering DJs globally. “Many in the DJ community still feel disconnected,” he says. “ITMP aims to bring everyone together on one platform.”

On December 20, ITMP will launch the Founder’s Circle, marking a significant step forward. Wellington plans to celebrate by spinning records at a local venue, emphasizing that music can foster unity and collaboration.

Wellington envisions ITMP as a comprehensive lifestyle brand for DJs. A space where creativity meets community, it will provide mentoring, coaching, and support tailored to the unique challenges faced by DJs today, especially those from underrepresented groups. “I’ve been in corporate roles, so I understand the learning curve many emerging artists face,” he reflects. This insight drives his mission to help others navigate the industry more effectively.

As part of this vision, ITMP is also revamping the DJ console. “Why shouldn’t a DJ station be as elegant as a grand piano?” Wellington asks. He’s collaborating with a local furniture company to create custom-designed consoles that are both functional and beautifully crafted.

One of ITMP’s standout features is “DJ Apollo,” an AI-driven DJ. This innovative tool blends human creativity with technology to create playlists that fit various music genres, including EDM and future jazz. Wellington describes DJ Apollo as a partner that helps him craft musical narratives while still keeping the human touch in performances. “It’s all about connection,” he insists, highlighting the importance of audience interaction.

Wellington’s approach taps into a growing trend: the merging of technology and creativity. According to an [IMS report](https://djmag.com/news/dance-music-industry-value-reaches-118-billion-ims-business-report-shows), the dance music industry alone is worth an estimated $11.8 billion, showcasing the vast market potential for a platform like ITMP.

Inclusivity is another core value for Wellington. “We aim to uplift underrepresented voices, including female DJs and young talent from marginalized communities,” he notes. This dedication to diversity positions DJing not just as a form of entertainment, but as a means of cultural preservation and empowerment. “When DJs support one another, beautiful things happen,” he adds.

In essence, ITMP does more than just enhance DJ culture; it amplifies it. Wellington’s vision is to create a thriving community where DJs can believe in themselves and their craft. “Together, we can create real magic,” he concludes, signaling the start of a promising movement in the DJ landscape.
