Featuring Alex Brightman, Sara Chase, and more, the beloved Apple TV+ series is now live on stage.

The Kennedy Center is about to host the world premiere of the stage version of Schmigadoon!. Opening on January 31 at the Eisenhower Theater, the show will run until February 9. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, the musical features a book, music, and lyrics by Cinco Paul, the creative mind behind the original series.
Leading the cast are Alex Brightman, known for Beetlejuice, as Josh Skinner, and Sara Chase from The Great Gatsby, playing Melissa Gimble. Other cast members include Kevin Del Aguila as Reverend Layton and McKenzie Kurtz as Betsy McDonough. Alongside them are Isabelle McCalla, Javier Muñoz, Brad Oscar, Emily Skinner, Ryan Vasquez, and Ann Harada, who is reprising her role from the series as Florence Menlove.
The ensemble also features Ayaan Diop, Phillip Attmore, Holly Ann Butler, and several others, all expertly cast by The Telsey Office.
Schmigadoon! captures the adventures of Josh and Melissa as they stumble into a vibrant, magical town filled with musical characters and performances inspired by classic Golden Age shows like Oklahoma! and The Music Man. This adaptation will include all the songs from the series’ Grammy-nominated score, plus some exciting new additions.
Music supervision is handled by David Chase, with orchestrations by Doug Besterman and Mike Morris. The design team includes scenic design by Scott Pask and lighting by Jen Schriever, among others. The stage manager for the production is Matt Lacey.
This stage production is presented in partnership with Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video and No Guarantees Productions. It is part of the Kennedy Center’s Broadway Center Stage series, overseen by Artistic Director Jeffrey Finn.
Schmigadoon! first made its mark on Apple TV+ in 2021 and returned for a second season in 2023, bringing its characters to a new setting called Schmicago, reflecting a playful nod to ’70s musicals.
