Ex-Dodger Witnesses Tragic Crosswalk Accident: Former MLB Player Testifies on Fatal Incident Involving Rebecca Grossman

Former Major League Baseball player Royce Clayton testified in the civil trial surrounding Rebecca Grossman, who is accused of causing the deaths of two young boys with her car. Clayton shared his emotional recollection of the events that led to this tragic accident.

During his testimony, Clayton recalled a call from ex-Dodgers pitcher Scott Erickson. Erikson witnessed the horrifying moment as Grossman hit the boys while driving at a high speed. Clayton stated, “I don’t know if he used the word racing, but they were traveling fast.” This testimony came in the context of a civil lawsuit filed by the family of Jacob and Mark Iskander.

On September 29, 2020, Nancy Iskander was crossing the street in Westlake Village with her three sons when the accident occurred. She managed to pull one of her boys to safety, but tragically, Jacob and Mark were struck and launched into the air.

Witnesses indicated that Grossman and Erickson, who were in a relationship at the time, had been drinking before the crash. Their evening began with drinks at a restaurant and ended in catastrophe.

Grossman was later convicted of second-degree murder and is currently serving 15 years to life in prison. The Iskander family is pursuing a civil case against both Grossman and Erickson, holding them accountable for the boys’ deaths, alleging that they were racing while intoxicated.

Clayton, visibly shaken, spoke about the moment he learned of the accident. He described Erickson as distraught, and it was clear the events had left a deep impact on him. “He wasn’t himself, as I can only imagine going through what he witnessed,” Clayton said.

In recent years, the dangers of drunk driving have been spotlighted in numerous studies, highlighting how even small amounts of alcohol can impair decision-making. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 10,000 people died in alcohol-related accidents in 2020 alone. This statistic brings into focus the harsh realities of this tragedy.

As the trial unfolds, it serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of reckless behavior on the road, especially when alcohol is involved. The emotions are raw, and the stakes are high for the Iskander family seeking justice for their loss.
