Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition recently launched on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Aspyr collaborated with Crystal Dynamics for this exciting release. Fans are curious if the other two games in the “Survivor” trilogy—Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider—will also make their way to Nintendo platforms.
Jordon Reese, Aspyr’s product manager, mentioned that they’ve received strong interest from players. This feedback has motivated them to consider bringing more of the series to Nintendo. In a recent interview, Reese noted:
Interviewer: “Is Aspyr looking to port Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to Nintendo?”
Aspyr: “We can’t confirm anything at the moment, but the enthusiasm for this release has encouraged us to explore more options.”
While there’s no official announcement yet, the developer is excited about the possibilities. Aspyr has a history with the Tomb Raider franchise, having previously worked on the original six games.
For now, their focus is on enhancing the Definitive Edition for a smooth experience on the Switch. Reese emphasized Aspyr’s commitment to delivering top-notch gameplay. They are also dedicated to supporting the Switch 2, targeting it for future cross-platform releases.
Interestingly, the video game landscape is constantly evolving. According to recent data from the ESA, about 75% of Americans play video games, showcasing the medium’s broad appeal. As gaming technology advances, players are looking for enhanced experiences across all platforms.
While no updates are confirmed for existing Aspyr titles on the Switch 2, Reese remains optimistic. The developer is keeping an open mind to future possibilities.
