Moscow, Tokyo, and Manama: Recent meetings involving Indian delegations focused on tackling terrorism and promoting cooperation. After a series of productive discussions, teams visited these cities to share India’s stance on cross-border extremism, particularly following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed 26 lives.
The delegation in Moscow, led by MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, emphasized India’s ongoing battle against terrorism. They engaged with Russian officials, including Andrey Denisov of the Committee on International Affairs. Kanimozhi expressed appreciation for Russia’s support, highlighting the shared commitment to combat terrorism. She stressed, “It’s important for people to understand our struggle against state-sponsored terror from Pakistan.”
In Japan, another delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha held discussions with political and community leaders. They received strong backing from Japan’s government regarding India’s anti-terror efforts. Jha reminded attendees that while India prefers peace, “we will respond firmly when our peace is threatened.”
A notable part of these discussions included Operation Sindoor, a series of military actions launched in response to the Pahalgam attack. Recent data shows that India’s focus on precision strikes has evolved since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, with Gulf countries now more supportive in condemning terrorism.
In Bahrain, senior BJP leader Baijayant Jay Panda led discussions underscoring India’s firm stance against terrorism. Meanwhile, Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir in the UAE noted that the region’s response to mutual threats has shifted significantly since past incidents.
Social media reactions to these meetings highlight the urgency many feel regarding terrorism. Comments from users often call for global unity against non-state actors who threaten peace.
As the situation evolves, India continues to strengthen ties with nations committed to counter-terrorism efforts. This ongoing dialogue plays a crucial role in fostering international cooperation against shared threats.
