Launch Your Dream: How Porsche and the University of Cambridge Empower Innovative Start-ups

As part of its “Start-up Your Dream” initiative, Porsche is backing Atera Water as they join the Ignite program at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. This partnership aims to create effective solutions to global challenges, especially in the Global South, where innovative ideas can significantly improve living conditions.

Atera Water focuses on developing groundbreaking water filtration technology. This method promises clean drinking water for regions facing scarcity or pollution, using minimal chemicals. Their approach blends scientific innovation with practical application, striving to tackle urgent global water issues.

During their time at the Ignite program, Atera Water founders Tai Kee and Dr. Adrian Yeo immersed themselves in a unique learning environment. They received invaluable mentoring and participated in workshops and networking opportunities. Dr. Yeo emphasized that the program helped refine their business model while fostering connections with other entrepreneurs. Kee noted that the diverse learning experiences broadened their perspective on tackling challenges.

Interestingly, the Ignite program, founded 27 years ago, has launched over 300 business ventures globally. This record showcases its impact on entrepreneurship education, helping participants from around the world develop viable business ideas. Recent data indicates that alumni have created or strengthened more than 1,200 ventures, enhancing their respective industries.

Porsche’s “Start-up Your Dream” initiative launched in summer 2025 and reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility. By supporting start-ups like Atera Water, Porsche aims to empower innovative founders and nurture ideas that can lead to significant societal improvements.

This initiative falls under Porsche’s broader “Partner to Society” strategy, which focuses on sustainable development through community support and empowerment. The company is dedicated to creating opportunities where individuals can improve their living conditions and achieve their dreams.

For further insights on the importance of clean water access, the World Health Organization estimates that 2 billion people live in water-stressed countries. Programs like Atera Water’s could dramatically change these statistics by offering sustainable solutions in water filtration.

Through these collaborative efforts, Porsche and Atera Water are paving the way for a future where clean water is accessible to all, demonstrating how innovative partnerships can bring real change to our world.
