A Heartfelt Donation in Palmerton
Country Harvest Family Market has made a meaningful contribution to the local community by donating $1,000 to the Christian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches (CACPAC).
Richard Nothstein, co-owner of the market, shared that this year, CACPAC has been sourcing much of its food from their store. “We hope to meet the needs of those struggling in our community,” he said. “No one should have to suffer.”
Nothstein credits his parents for instilling in him the importance of giving. “They taught me the joy of helping others,” he explained.
Susie Arner, co-director of the Palmerton Food Pantry, expressed gratitude for the donation. “This generosity allows us to provide food to families in need,” she noted. “It truly makes a difference during tough times.”
This donation is part of a growing trend of support for local food pantries. Just last month, Jim and Tiffani Christman of The Jim Christman Team also donated $1,000 to CACPAC ahead of the Bo Tkach Foundation’s annual Turkey Trot, showing that community support is strong.
According to a 2023 Feeding America report, food insecurity affects 1 in 8 people in the U.S. Donations like these help bridge the gap, ensuring that families have access to nutritious meals.
As Richard Nothstein continues to lead by example, his actions remind us all that even small contributions can lead to big changes.
