Thrilling Victory: Tulane University Triumphs at Baldwin Wood Regatta!

New Orleans — Tulane sailing swept the Baldwin Wood regatta, clinching the top five spots for the second consecutive year. Competing on the scenic waters of Lake Pontchartrain, the Green Wave showcased their talent with eight teams in total.

Freshmen Lillie Foster and Sabrina Casagrande led the charge, finishing first with an impressive 33 points over ten races. Their teamwork paid off, earning them top honors.

Ashley Hoguet and Caroline Caudron followed closely, taking second place with 43 points. Not far behind, Taylor Bartell and Cate Anderson secured third with 45 points, while Sophia Dias and Caitlin Briggs came in fourth with 46 points. Eliza Corral and Elizabeth Struve rounded out the top five with 47 points.

The team placement continued to impress, with Tulane also fielding teams that finished eighth, ninth, and tenth. Allie Capasso and Megan Cassidy landed in eighth, while Sabrina Anderson and Sophia Adams took ninth. Martha Hughes and Parker Kumler finished the day in tenth place.

Looking ahead, Tulane will send six sailors to the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships in Norfolk, Virginia. Ava Anderson and Oakley Cunningham will represent the women’s team, while Hamilton Barclay, Alejo Di Blasi, Tate Christopher, and Matheo Capasso will compete in the open championship.
