Chandigarh, 29 April 2026 – Arete Design Studio became an industry partner at the International Conference “Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat 2.0.” Founder Architect Tripat Girdhar was honored at the event by Shri Kashmiri Lal Ji from Swadeshi Jagran Manch, along with several ministers from Roorkee.
The conference, hosted by IIT Roorkee and Swadeshi Shidh Sansthan in collaboration with The Bharat Global Industries Forum (BGIF), focused on bridging the gap between academia and industry. Key figures like JP Nadda, the Central Minister of Health, and Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Atomic Energy, participated virtually.
The Industry-Academia Conclave 2026 aims to create a National Industry-Academia Action Framework. This framework aligns with NEP 2020, transforming India’s higher education into a relevant force for industry. The goal is to connect research directly with employment, envisioning a future where innovative student projects quickly evolve into startups. They aim to boost India’s R&D investment and improve its global ranking in university-industry collaboration by 2035.
Tripat Girdhar emphasized, “This platform highlights the need for education to address industry challenges. Architects and designers work at the crossroads of creativity and practicality. By bridging this gap, we not only enhance employability but also create effective problem-solvers.” He believes structured cooperation is vital so that fresh research leads directly to solutions and innovations, which are essential for achieving India’s Vision 2047.
### Insights and Context
Historically, India has faced challenges in aligning higher education with industry needs. According to the National Statistical Office, only 31% of graduates are employable in India as of 2021. This gap emphasizes the necessity for events like the conclave to create pathways for effective collaboration.
Recent trends on social media have also shown growing interest among millennials and Gen Z in entrepreneurship, signifying a shift toward innovation and startup culture. Many young graduates are now seeking to translate their academic knowledge into real-world applications, reflecting a demand for industry-ready education.
By fostering partnerships between academic institutions and industries, India can create a dynamic workforce ready to tackle modern challenges and drive economic growth.
