Sustainability and cost-efficiency are transforming the textile industry. As companies aim to cut their carbon footprints while staying competitive, renewable energy is becoming essential. We spoke with Mr. Shobit Rai, CEO of Prozeal Green Energy, to learn about their role in this shift and their vision for a greener future.
Prozeal Green Energy started over ten years ago and is now a leader in renewable energy solutions in India. They specialize in solar and wind hybrid parks, offering a full package that includes land, construction, and maintenance.
One of their main focuses is the textile sector. Prozeal has completed over 400 MW of projects across India and Nepal, helping businesses in spinning, weaving, and dyeing to switch to renewable energy, enhancing their sustainability and efficiency.
Adopting renewable energy is more than just an environmental choice; it’s a smart business move. Energy costs make up 30-40% of a textile company’s expenses, and by using renewable sources, companies can reduce costs by 20-30%. This shift not only benefits the planet but also helps Indian textile manufacturers stay competitive against international rivals.
At the recent Bharat Tex event, sustainability was a hot topic. Mr. Rai pointed out that factors like geopolitical shifts and government initiatives to boost local production are enhancing India’s position in the global textile market. The rise of green energy adoption also plays a big role, especially as Europe implements regulations to encourage lower carbon emissions.
In 2024, Prozeal achieved significant milestones, including a 2 GW installed capacity and a threefold increase in revenue and growth across 18 states. A standout achievement was their Battery Energy Storage System, allowing industries to utilize renewable energy more effectively, even in states with strict regulations. They are also making inroads internationally, partnering with Nepal’s Golyan Group for a 500 MW renewable project.
Prozeal’s competitive advantage lies in three areas:
Trustworthiness: Renewable projects need significant investment, and Prozeal ensures reliability and long-term service, making them a dependable partner.
Flexible Models: They offer clients options to either own energy infrastructure or purchase power at lower rates, cutting upfront costs significantly.
- Comprehensive Solutions: Prozeal handles everything from land acquisition to long-term maintenance under one contract, simplifying the transition to renewable energy.
With the demand for sustainable textiles growing, Prozeal is at the forefront, leading the charge toward a more energy-efficient and cost-effective textile industry. Their efforts are not just about energy; they are about creating a legacy of sustainability and competitiveness for Indian textiles.
As the industry embraces renewable energy, it is poised for greater efficiency and reduced costs, setting the stage for a brighter, greener future.
